Can I use my insurance?
Firefly Health does not accept insurance. We take cash, checks or credit cards. We do, however, supply you with a super bill at the end of the visit that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out of network benefits. We are not contracted with medicare so we can not give a super bill to medicare patients.
Are you a primary care doctor?
No, Firefly Health is a consult service. We work with your doctor, not in place of your doctor. We require you to maintain a primary care doctor.
How does care at Firefly health work?
Care begins with an Illumination Session, a comprehensive functional medicine evaluation designed to identify the root contributors to your health concerns and create a personalized plan. From there, patients continue their care through the Membership Program, which provides ongoing support and individualized functional medicine treatment
Why Membership?
Membership allows for continuous care, education and community, outside of a single appointment. Fee for service does not support the continuous care that many patients need and deserve to make meaningful progress toward their health goals.

Illumination Session ($1150)
This is an initial functional medicine evaluation designed to help uncover the root contributors to your current health concerns and create a clear, personalized roadmap for care.
The initial assessment includes:
2 visits with Dr. Merlis
90 minute in person intake
30 minute virtual follow up
A comprehensive review of your medical history and prior laboratory results
A thorough physical examination
An in-depth, individualized functional medicine assessment of:
Your current symptoms
Contributing lifestyle, environmental and physiologic factors
And potential underlying drivers of imbalance
A thoughtful, phased, care plan outlining next steps for further evaluation and treatment
Personalized supplement and prescription recommendations, when appropriate
One visit with our Health Coach to support implemenation of your plan
Two secure portal messages to ask clarifying questions about your plan of care after your visit
At the conclusion of your Illumination Session, you will also receive a membership invitation, valid for 30 days, should you wish to continue your care within our ongoing functional medicine membership program.
